Dada is a three piece rock band from California (United States). The band is made up of Michael Gurley (guitar/co-lead vocals), Joie Calio (bass/co-lead vocals) and Phil Leavitt (drums). The band’s songs feature both Michael and Joie sharing the vocals on each song. The group write highly melodic, harmony laden tunes, and their constant touring with two and a half to three hour performances has won them a wide fan base.

1992 saw the release of their debut album Puzzle. It’s first single “Dizz Knee Land” quickly became a staple of radio across the U.S. and reached number 2 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, number 5 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart and number 27 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart. Puzzle went on to sell more than half a million copies and earned an RIAA Gold Record award. dada toured for the album with bands such as Crowded House and Izzy Stradlin & the Ju Ju Hounds, as well as Sting.

Their successive albums sold fewer and had fewer hits on the radio. Yet, band members have kept the flame burning and now 25 years after the chart topper, they’re ready with a new release! It’s a double “A” side single, “The Bluebird” and “Take Me To The Song.”

This is the first ever release on their new label “Forever Records” catalog number FVR-001! It’s a special Limited Collector’s Edition that is a must have for dedicated members of the dada family. A single pressing of 500, large hole, 45 rpm, 7 inch records will be produced in translucent lemon/lime virgin vinyl.

Sacramento’s K-ZAP 93.3 FM and stream at K-ZAP.ORG/LISTEN/ is now spinning the track “Take Me To The Song.” Watch the video version below.
