After the rapturous response to their recent offering ‘Speaking In Tongues’ single earlier this year, US outfit Holy Roller Baby are back on the grind once again to deliver their swaggering new single ‘Girl From The East Side’.
Lifted from their upcoming sophomore album Smile Like Heaven, which is out on the 23rd August, ‘Girl From The East Side’ continues more of that sweeping alt-rock groove they are known for. With its jangled guitar hooks and soaring vocals layered throughout, they are certainly looking to turn some heads with this one.
Speaking about the new release, the band’s Jared Mullins said, “Cleveland is weird. There’s one highway, and it splits the city into East and West. As a kid, we never went to the East Side, because the rumor was that people were always discovering dead bodies there. What would you do if you went for a walk and discovered a dead body? Hide? Run? Shriek? Me? I wrote a song about it.”
