Jamestown Revival is an Americana duo, Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance, who revel in tight harmonies and energized songs. They met in their Magnolia, Texas, high school trigonometry class at age 15 and began writing songs.
Clay and Chance both say they like artists who tell stories in song. The band’s music inspirations come from story tellers of adventure such as Louis L’Amour, Willie Nelson and John Prine as well as nature, and simple things.
“Utah” was their first album (2014) and a highly autobiographical collection of harmony-laden folk songs recorded to tape in a log cabin in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. iTunes named “Utah” Best of 2014: Singer-Songwriter Album of the Year.
Rolling Stone magazine and the Wall Street Journal have written stories about the duo. The band has made appearances at music festivals in the U.S., including the South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival in Austin, Texas, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, and a musical appearance on Conan.
K-ZAP is featuring the Jamestown Revival’s second album, recorded in Austin, “The Education of a Wandering Man” (2016) and the tune “Poor Man’s Gold.”
