Lost Leaders are a duo consisting of Peter Cole (vocals/guitar) and Byron Isaacs (bass/vocals). Isaacs also is the touring bass player for The Lumineers. Lost Leaders were birthed in Levon Helm’s barn in Woodstock, New York in 2011 when Byron Isaacs was playing bass in his band. One of their first shows was at Helm’s Midnight Ramble the year prior to his passing. The duo recorded their 2014 eponymous release there. Lost Leaders followed that release with 2017’s Heavy Lifting.
Lost Leaders third album 2019’s Promises, Promises continue their pop-Americana/psychedelic sound. The resulting album is a bit Tom Petty, a bit Raconteurs with a hint of Americana thrown in.
Their first single “Extra-Ordinary” brings to mind Damn the Torpedoes-era Tom Petty with the track centered around jangling and bluesy guitar chords and enormous arena friendly hooks.
