Last year, as lockdown forced musicians back inside, bands had to find new ways to pass the time. Having already made a new Foo Fighters album, Taylor Hawkins had already ticked off one job from the to-do list. Next idea – and something he’s fairly fond of doing semi-regularly – start a new band with a bunch of other cats.
In this case, Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro – who Taylor calls “the best lead guitarist in alternative rock” – and bassist Chris Cheney, with whom the drummer played during his time in Alanis Morissette’s band, and in his own solo band The Coattail Riders. The band made their live debut opening for Pearl Jam at the Ohana Festival in Dana Point, California on October 2.
