Eilen Jewell is an Americana singer/songwriter from Boise, Idaho whose music blends classic country and vintage blues. Born and raised in Boise, Idaho, Jewell began piano lessons at the age of seven and picked up the guitar when she was 14.
Jewell attended college in Santa Fe, later spent time in Los Angeles and moved to Boston in 2003. She got into the local music scene and began to record some of her songs. Signature Sounds liked what they heard and the label signed Jewell and she issued a number of successful albums, capped with a double-album Live At the Narrows.
Beginning in 2005, Jewell and her band have toured the U.S., Canada, Europe, the UK and Australia including performances at South by Southwest and NPR’s World Cafe.
She moved one more time, back to her hometown of Boise and issued her fifth album in 2015, Sundown Over Ghost Town and now this year’s latest, Down Hearted Blues.
